Protests erupt outside Kasba Police station as 3 arrested in alleged Kolkata college gang rape
In Sadisopur village, within the Bihta police station area of Patna district, a tragic incident occurred where a stepmother threw two children into a well, resulting in the death of one child. Villagers witnessed the horrific act and immediately rescued the children from the well.
Both children were taken to the local hospital, where seven-year-old Arnav Kumar was declared dead. The other child, five-year-old Sammi Kumar, is receiving treatment. The children belong to Arun Thakur's first wife, Rajni Devi, and it was reported that the second wife, Sharda Kumari, committed the crime following a dispute with the first wife.
Arun Thakur, who has two marriages, has two sons, Arnav and Sammi, with his first wife and a daughter, Shivani Kumari, with his second wife. The first wife, Rajni Devi, had been living separately due to harassment from her husband and was educating her children in Kanhauli market.
On Tuesday evening, the second wife lured the children to a garden under the pretext of feeding them mangoes, beat them, and then threw them into the well. The Bihta police station chief confirmed the incident, stating that both the accused husband and wife are in police custody and being questioned.
